Friday Night Fever: New York Hustle with Archi
Kick off your weekend with the smooth, fast-paced rhythms of the New York Hustle. Born in the clubs of the 1970s and popularized by Saturday Night Fever, this partner dance is far more than just "pointing your finger at the ceiling." It is a sophisticated, rotational dance style that blends the smoothness of Latin dance with the driving beat of Disco and Pop music.
In this 45-minute session, Archi brings his deep understanding of rhythm and body control to the ballroom floor. You will learn the unique syncopated timing that makes Hustle so dynamic, focusing on the "slot" based movement that allows for fast turns and flashy patterns without crashing into your neighbors.
What you can expect in class:
-
The Rhythm: Master the "and-one, two, three" syncopated timing that keeps the dance moving at a fast clip.
-
Rotational Energy: Learn how to create momentum for spins and turns, making the Follower look like they are gliding across the floor.
-
The "Wrap" & "Turnstile": We break down classic patterns where the partners trade places, moving in and out of wrapped positions.
-
Disco Styling: It wouldn't be Hustle without the flair! Archi will teach you how to add arm styling and poses to accent the music.
This is the perfect social dance for crowded floors and upbeat music. No partner is required, and we rotate frequently to get everyone dancing.
