Spin, Spiral & Flow: Hoop Dancing with Angela

Rediscover the joy of movement with a twist! Hoop Dancing with Angela takes the childhood pastime of hula hooping and transforms it into a graceful, rhythmic art form known as "Flow." This class is a unique blend of dance, object manipulation, and fitness that engages the mind just as much as the body.

In this 45-minute session, Angela guides you through the fundamentals of hoop dance. You will move beyond simple waist hooping to explore "off-body" tricks, isolations, and fluid transitions. It is a low-impact, high-fun workout that improves coordination, builds core stability, and induces a meditative "flow state" that melts away the stress of the day.

What you can expect in class:

  • On-Body Techniques: Master the sustainability of keeping the hoop spinning on your waist, hips, and chest.

  • Off-Body Tricks: Learn mesmerizing hand tricks, weaves, and isolations where the hoop appears to float in mid-air.

  • Core & Cardio: Hooping is a deceptive workout! It tones your abdominal muscles and gets your heart rate up without the impact of jumping.

  • Flow Combinations: Angela teaches you how to link individual tricks together into seamless dance sequences set to upbeat music.

Hoops are provided for class use (weighted hoops for beginners make learning much easier!), or you are welcome to bring your own. No previous dance experience is required.
